Almería is a province of the Autonomous Community of Andalucia, Spain. It is bordered by the provinces of Granada, Murcia, and the Mediterranean Sea. Its capital is the homonymous city of Almería.

Almería has an area of 8,774 km². With 699,329 (2013) inhabitants, its population density is 79.7/km², slightly lower than the spanish average. It is divided in 102 municipalities.
Almeria the sunniest place in Europe
Almería is located in the most sunny part of Europe. It has the most sun hours and least amount of rain. Even the winters are soft and it does not freeze, only in some higher situated parts.
To ski and swim at the beach in the same day
In the north of Almería you will find Granada at a 1,5 hour drive. It's possible to ski at the Sierra Nevada(Granada) in the morning and visit the beach in the evening. All in 1 day!
Since Almeria is population density is low, there is no traffic problem on the high ways. It's a great and safe place to live and enjoy life.
Roquetas Playa
Almería has one of the largest protected coastal area called Cabo de Gata, a wild and isolated landscape with some of Europe's most original geological features. You can find some amazing playas there. Some nearby sierras (desserts) make it a great spot for movie makers too.
Many movies have been shot in the region. From Indiana Jones, Cowboys (The Good the Bad and the Ugly), Barbarians (Conan) and lately Excodus Gods and Kings.
